IGBF Grocers Ball 2009

Backup Marketing are priviliged to have been commissioned to manage two of the IGBF’s largest fund raiser events in 2009 – the Grocers Ball and the IGBF Christmas Lunch.  The ball was attended by almost 500 people and was a resounding success with the Camenbert Quartet (of RTE’s Late Late Show fame!) had the Grocery Fraternity dancing till the small hours!  The lunch is on the 27th of November and we are hopeful of the usual attendance of close to 1,000 people.

The Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund supports our colleagues and ex-colleagues from the grocery trade who have fallen on hard times.  The charity is currently helping 271 families who find themselves in difficult circumstances.  These families come from a cross section of the whole trade both retail and wholesale, supplier and manufacturer.

A major source of funds for the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund is the appeal made by the President of Appeals on an annual basis to companies involved in the trade

For twenty eight years our wonderful charity has helped to relieve hardship amongst unemployed and retired members who have fallen on difficult times because of ill health, unemployment or bereavement.  The fund continues in its efforts to reach more people in need.  This year more than ever we need your support so we can help:

We are grateful to all the people in the industry who continue to support this charity which is so close to home.
