THE ASK

Bolands Mills tasked us with a clear ambition: to design and deliver a new, contemporary events programme that would launch the historic site as one of Dublin’s most exciting new destinations..

Freshly regenerated as a mixed-use development, Bolands Mills is rooted in heritage while firmly focused on breathing new life into the area.

The programme needed to reflect that balance — celebrating the site’s rich history, striking architecture, on-site businesses and vibrant community, while welcoming residents, employees, and the general public.

At its core, the brief was about connection and community: creating moments that would bring people together and establish Bolands Mills as a place to gather, discover, and return to.

THE RESPONSE

We developed a number of curated, cultural events designed to position Bolands Mills as a new creative hub in the city.

From comedy and spoken word to live music and large-scale seasonal moments, we built a programme that felt both accessible and culturally relevant.

To date, we’ve hosted live performances and appearances from Alison Spittle, Robert Sheehan, Nialler9, Jan Brierton, Seanchoíche, and rising Irish artists including Kynsy and POSER - showcasing a mix of established voices and emerging talent.

We embedded Bolands Mills into Dublin’s wider cultural landscape by partnering with citywide initiatives such as Culture Night and Dublin City Council’s Bram Stoker Festival, ensuring the site played an active role in the city’s annual cultural calendar.

The year culminated with the hugely successful Bizarre Bazaar - a reimagined Christmas market that welcomed over 25,000 visitors. Featuring meticulously selected suppliers, independent vendors, performers, and entertainers, it transformed Bolands Mills into a vibrant festive destination and firmly established it as a place that people wanted to spend time.

THE RESULT

The events programme was designed to do exactly what Bolands Mills stands for: celebrate Dublin’s cultural energy and heritage while introducing a bold new creative space to the city.

Year one focused on launch - putting Bolands Mills back on the map and reintroducing it to Dublin as a cultural destination.

Year two builds on that momentum, reinforcing a sense of community, increasing footfall, and encouraging people to make Bolands Mills a go-to place to meet, hang out, and socialise.

Through thoughtful programming and meaningful experiences, we helped shape a place made for connection, creativity, and community - and one that continues to evolve with the people who use it.
