TESCO'S GOT TALENT & VALUES AWARDS

Helping Tesco celebrate their colleagues in the challenging times of COVID-19.

THE ASK

Transform Tesco’s annual awards ceremony, normally catering for approx. 320 guests, into a COVID-friendly format that all Tesco Ireland colleagues could virtually attend and get involved in. It’s important that attendees experienced the same level of entertainment, energy, and sense of appreciation as in previous in-person events.⠀

THE RESPONSE

Tesco’s Got Talent & Values Awards 2020: We created a hybrid, Eurovision-style event which was broadcast live from a TV studio, and streamed online to all Tesco Ireland colleagues across the country, who could dial-in from home with their families, or from their stores (socially distanced), with their colleagues to celebrate on the night.⠀

The event included a combination of remote recordings, Zoom calls, and the live element with presenter and judging panel present in studio. All nominees and contestants (approx. 1650 colleagues), received a ‘party box’, full of goodies and props delivered to their homes ahead of the live show to use during the event, and encourage participation via the comments section of the live stream.

THE RESULT

Tesco was able to reach a

record number of employees

and colleagues via this live

streamed event as there were no limitations with regard to attendance numbers, given the nature of the virtual platform which was used.

The playback function of the event on the website also allowed for colleagues to watch the event in their own time, should they not be able to view the event live, further increasing Tesco’s ability to reach large volumes of employees.
